Smithfield

The kids wanted to barbecue really bad on labor day and it was a busy weekend, so we ended up roasting hot dogs in the back yard.

Today was a fun day.  I was up at 6:30 AM to take Lisa to Softball.  After practice we drove up to Smithfield for Eric's football game.  He had a good game.  He has some real chemistry going with his teammates.  They all like him and he likes them.

This is the game all the parents became restless and started yelling at the refs.  It started to become obvious the were on the side of the home town team.

We were not sure if David took a good picture so we had someone take a picture of the three of us.  Notice how I'm wearing my ASU shirt shirt is more than 20 years old.  Yes I like my wardrobe.  At the family reunion my sisters and Wendy were giving me a really hard time when Katie dug out these old pictures and Wendy says "Those are the same clothes you wear today"

Eric had a great game today.  2 hurries on the quarterback, 3 tackles, and 1 QB sack.  He was pretty excited.  He was all over the field.  He did a great job blocking on offense.

I asked Eric who he eats lunch with.  I guess five of his football buddies save a table for each other and he eats lunch with them.  Then he has the neighborhood friends that just loves and he plays with them during the afternoon recess.

The team had a rough game versus Syracuse but  Eric is still having a lot of fun.

                                       Lisa hitting a single at parents vs kids.  That morning I took her to to meet up with two of her teammates and they had Ash from Weber State University come teach them how to play catcher.  She was really good with the kids and taught them footwork that none of them knew how to do.  Lisa asserted herself as the best catcher.  She was the only one that could make the throws to second.  Now what do we do?  Chuck told us to go buy catchers gear, but she has never played and I don't want her pigeon holed at catcher.  She has enough on her plate practicing for pitcher.

Celebrating after the game - I let the kids buy a drink.  I usually don't let them drink a lot of pop, so this was a big deal and they were having fun.  David kept trying to get me to taste his suicide drink that he did not like but he described as "refreshing".

Summer 2016

  Below are some of  the activities we did when I had a camera.   Lisa is such a good little player and she has been so fun to watch. 

Of course Eric's favorite sport is football and he gets an obscene amount of attention for playing it.  I know I did not post a lot of football pictures on here last year, but I will starting next week. 

At the school play all the kids had to dress up in these ridiculous ponchos.  Somehow Eric and his friend received the main part and wore their football uniforms.

                               Eric 2016 All-Stars.  I coached Eric's team and it was fun.

Lisa performed a solo to the song "Footloose" in her 80's program with the glee club.  She did great and I thought was the best performance that night.  She is so awesome!

Lisa and Eric helped me put together this grill.  Half way through I got stuck for a moment and asked Lisa to take a look at the instructions.  She successfully read through the steps, so I had her read 1 step ahead of me and we put the grill together in record time!

                                                             Miller Sports Park 2016.  This was such a fun year.  I'm sad that is over.  This was our first spring and summer for doing softball and it was fun.  We met a lot of new people and made a lot of friends.  They improved so much over the season.  I always get sad when one of the kid's seasons is over.  But then in the blink of an eye, a new season starts.  Hello Farmington Eagles! and Hello Sting!
